Vote Democratic!
Comments on the passing scene by an Irish-American rebel.
Well, I read the speech that senator Kerry gave yesterday. It was a good speech and I congratulate him for giving it. But I think that the Democrats in government have been so cautious and to self serving in their efforts to guarantee re-election that they have failed us in our hour of need. The next president must come from somewere else, we don't have anyone in the Senate or the house of representatives that has the metal to take of the Republican spin machine with its dirty tricks and fralsehoods. I pray that someone appears, perhaps a Democratic governor. I also am looking at vice President Gore, he is reborn and is talking straight about the environment. We will see.

"Democratic Party leaders in Vermont on Saturday passed a motion asking Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings against President Bush. Democratic state committees in Wisconsin, New Mexico, Nevada and North Carolina have taken similar steps."
A man who identified himself as Harry Taylor rose at a forum here to tell Bush that he's never felt more ashamed of the leadership of his country. He said Bush has asserted his right to tap phone calls without a warrant, to arrest people and hold them without charges and to revoke a woman's right to an abortion, among other things.
He was booed by the audience, but Bush interrupted and urged the audience to let Taylor finish.
``I feel like despite your rhetoric, that compassion and common sense have been left far behind during your administraiton,'' Taylor said, standing in a balcony seat and looking down at Bush on stage. ``And I would hope from time to time that you have the humility and grace to be ashamed of yourself.''
Bush defended the National Security Adminsitration's survelliance program, saying he authorized the program to protect the country.
