I heard it but didn't believe it, on the PBS Lehrer news hour last night and tonight, they are addressing the social security issue with a bunch of untruths and false projections which boggle the mind! What happened to journalism? Why was no mention made of the fact that there is no crisis!!!!!

They kept talking about the problem (What problem?) and suggesting that we might have to increase the retirement age, or decrease the payments.

LISTEN TO ME!!!

THERE IS NO PROBLEM!!!

We might have to make a small adjustment in a years ahead but that is only if the economy grows at a much smaller rate in the future than it did in the past, but thats not likely!

Global climate change! What global climate change?

Yes, I've heard the naysayers over and over. They keep insisting that it hasn't been proven, we should do more studies, it is only a local disturbance and not indicative of a long term trend, Yada YadaYada. Only a stupid person would not believe this! I dont know what else to say.

Since My senators voted NAY on the bankruptcy bill I wrote them an email and patted them on the back. You can do the same with your senators (of course if they voted Yea then you might want to get nasty!). Just go to the senate web site.
First look up how they voted and then write them an email, it is easy and it works! they keep track of what people are telling them and it will influence their votes in the future.

I am really getting impatient for the media
in the country to wake up and remember
who they are writing for.

The march of time

I watched a little of "Nowhere in Africa" today.
It is the story of a young German/Jewish family
that escaped from Nazi Germany.
They hear from their families
who are stuck in Germany
and who, over time, tell them
about the rising tide of Nazi
persecution until at last they are
taken to the camps.

It is a very sad story and
as I thought about the
helplessness that the
young people felt I began
to identify with the feeling.
Here we are, in the grip of
a madman who is doing his
best to destroy world peace,
our country our environment,
and our freedoms.
And there doesn't look like
we can stop him.
The middle class
in this country has been sold
a bill of goods that is going to
result in the rich getting richer
and the middle class getting poor.

I am not even sure if they realize
what is going on.
Certainly the news media is not
giving out the story.

If we should suffer another terrorist
attack I am afraid that the Republicans
will take the opportunity to turn this
country into a facist state,
they are well on that
road even now.

I hope and pray that the Democrats
in congress and the senate finally
find their spines and stand up against
the shrub.

I see that the shrub is scurrying out around the
country on a wirlwind tour to try and turn the
tide.
There are also a lot of private groups with
a driving need to destroy social security
that have started to marshal their resources.

Then there is the illegal use of the Treasury
department to further this political cause.

Too Bad. The cement has already started to set!

Just so, those fools think they can change the
minds of a public that is losing faith in this
administration and who is seeing their security
threatened, let them burn up trying.

Looks like they are shriveling up in

the bright light of public scrutiny.

I just hope that continues to be the case
Problem is, we have too many
gullible people around who look at
the news on tv and think It is the whole
truth, rather than a few simplified generalities.
I would like to get this behind us and
move on to getting the deficit cut, my
approach would be to get thos taxes
back in place with an increase to
cover the cost of the quagmire
otherwise known as Iraq.
